Slipping into this Summer’s Swimwear

Like every other summer, I have spent the last few weeks looking at the current swimsuit trends and seeing what my new bathing suit addition to my wardrobe should be this year. This season, I have noticed a few key things: the return of the fringe, more one-piece bathing suit selections, and a huge fashion expression of flirty ruffles. Combining these styles with gorgeous colours, this summer is certainly hosting cute swimwear that truly fits different body types, heights, and moods.

Here are some of the great swimsuits that I discovered so far this season:

Victoria’s Secret Fringe Long Line Top, paired with the brand’s signature teeny bikini bottom. This bathing suit embraces the fringe trend beautifully on top, with a basic bottom to match – ideal for a woman who enjoys being fashion-forward or wants to rock the festival look at the beach or pool. This suit comes in a stunning seascape blue or a light pink, reflection floral pattern.

Beacha Swimwear’s one-piece VELA swimsuit. Originated in Tel Aviv – one of the world’s most vibrant beachfront cities, Beacha is on a mission to create one-piece swimsuits that make all women feel beautiful and confident in their own skin. Their VELA design is flattering, with the two-tone colour block design hitting the body’s smallest point, with great coverage and comfortable straps to complete the look.

Aerie Scoop Bikini with Aerie’s classic mid-rise convertible bikini bottomAmerican Eagle’s sister company has become one of my favourite stops for swimsuits! The designs are adorable and the pricing is just right. This scoop bikini is great for women who are looking for more coverage along the bust line and more coverage for their behind. The combination of solid colours with a small print is done well and helps to accentuate the body in a positive way.

PINK by Victoria’s Secret push-up Flounce bikiniFor the girls who love ruffles, this design is great! The fabulous flounce top is a modern take on the traditional ruffle and is paired with a basic bottom to emphasize the flirty top. This design by PINK comes in vibrant solid colours or bright patterns which will go perfectly on the beach or pool side during the summer.

It’s time to Hydrate Your Hands

From holding to writing to typing to painting to hand-related tasks, it is important to always treat your hands with some TLC. Your hands are an extremely useful body part, but after a lot of wear and tear, they can get rough, cracked, chapped, or cut. Even handling just a small amount of paper for a short period of time can leave your fingers dry. This is why I am a fan of a good quality hand cream.

Hand cream is a wonderful thing. It has many benefits, such as:

  • Moisturizing and nourishing your skin
  • SPF protection – many hand lotions have sunscreen in them now as your hands are regularly exposed to the sun
  • Assist in smoothing out hands and reducing the appearances of dark spots – as they say, your hands can show your age as much as your face
  • Can help with cuticle and nail health

All it takes for great hand health is a small amount of hand cream applied and rubbed gently into your hands once a day and you are all set!

Here are some of my favourite hand creams that have been tried, tested, and reviewed by yours truly and are wonderful:

A little Thank You goes a long way

From a young age, one major lesson we are taught is to be kind to others and to always say “thank you.” These two little words are important. They may be short and quick to say, but thanking others and recognizing what they do for you and give to you is a small act of kindness that people deserve and in the moment, would appreciate to hear.

Thank-You-1-500x408

This year, apart from good health and happiness, I have a lot to be thankful for… and a lot of people to thank! With changes in my career and my wedding just under six months away, saying thank you has become more than regular habit for me. Apart from saying it, I feel writing it in a note is another personalized touch to show people you are grateful for what they have done for you.

Recently, I have discovered a wonderful online store which specializes in pre-made and custom stationery, including thank you notes and cards! The online store is called TINY PRINTS, which is one of four companies under the Internet-based image publishing giant, Shutterfly. Upon landing on this site, I was instantly lost in an incredible sea of stationery and thank you card options, ideal for all of the wonderful messages I would be busy writing to my loved ones, friends, and colleagues this year.

After much debate, here are the designs that I selected for my Thank You cards:

When I received the package from TINY PRINTS, I was so excited! I opened up the box, saw the cards I had made through this company and just LOVED them! The quality of the paper (even though I picked the lower end one to save some dollars) was very good and crisp. The colours looked great and stood out. Also, each card came with white envelopes, which matched the quantity ordered by the exact amount.

I have already used up all of the customized cards for my engagement party and will be placing a re-order of those cards for my upcoming bridal showers. Also, I have received compliments on the other cards I have sent to other people.

Amazing pre-made or customized designs, reasonable pricing, online ordering, and delivery right to your door – who wouldn’t love that?!

Fruit for Thought
