Sincerely, Kate

Like many of you ladies out there, I have a deep love for Kate Spade. Kate Spade purses, Kate Spade homeware, Kate Spade stationary. Everything and anything Kate Spade is my favourite! This brand constantly creates new products in bright, happy colours that can put a smile to one’s face, uses shimmering gold and silver tones to transform your plain office supplies into an actual stylish accessory, and incorporates cool patterns and phrases to produce adorable items for your kitchen and dining room table.

One other thing I enjoy about this designer label: they have ACTUAL SALES! I love that they consistently offer wonderful online sales (there have been sometimes up for 75% off flash sales) and as recent as last week, I walked into one of their store locations and they had a great 25% off sale the majority of their merchandise.

Since my latest visit to a Kate Spade store last week and discovering more about their homeware as I created my bridal registries, here are my latest favourites from KS:

Entertaining on Glass

I have always had a love of entertaining guests at home, particularly over food or serving a nice spread over wine. Since becoming an engaged woman, my appreciation for classic and useful food platters, serving pieces and other entertainment-focused items has grown, as I have built and revised my own bridal registry.

One of my favourite types of entertainment pieces are items that are made from glass. Glass is gorgeous for many reasons. It is simple to clean, it shows off the colour and beauty of the food you are serving, and it puts the attention purely on the delicious meal or canapes you spent hours slaving over or received after dealing back and forth with a catering company or takeout counter from a restaurant.

Here are some beautiful glass pieces I have come across on my bridal registry missions…

For your pre-meal snacks with dip (perfect for veggies or chips with the dip of your choice):

My Friendship with Tea: Miranda Kerr for Royal Albert

A fun thing I have experienced since becoming a bride-to-be is creating my wedding registry. As I figure out the needs of my future kitchen and in-home entertainment, my mom has been there every step of the way to guide me as I debate over the shape of my china, which food processor I should get or what colour my Kitchenaid Mixmaster should be. Through this process, one thing is clear – I am my mother’s daughter when it comes to my love of gorgeous serving pieces. In particular, my mom and I both share a great love of tea and pretty tea pots and tea sets to go with our hot beverages.

Even though I have tried to keep my wedding registry as practical as possible, I discovered an adorable tea collection and decided to indulge by adding a few pieces to my potential wedding gifts list:  Miranda Kerr for Royal Albert.

The Friendship Tea Collection by Miranda Kerr for Royal Albert is a delightfully feminine collection of fine bone china inspired by Miranda’s love for peonies and butterflies. The white and pastel backgrounds of the beautiful pieces provide the perfect canvas for blooms and butterflies to really stand out. These pretty pieces are a great addition to any afternoon tea party or adding some lovely colour to your everyday dining.

Here are some of my favourite selections from this collection:

Happy Pie Day!

Today is National Pie Day in the United States, but that doesn’t mean we cannot celebrate this special recognition day just north of the border. Pie has always been a favourite of mine…and a lot of you out there. There is something about the sweet filling, the buttery crust or the fact that it is soft on the inside and well-baked on the outside. No matter what your reason is for loving pie, it is just plain good!

PieEditorialThumb

Pie definitely deserves its own special day like this. I crave pie regularly, so I thought I would share some of my favourites that are delish and would make a great dessert… or a yummy indulgence when you need it:

 APPLE PIE

dreamstime_m_24341337-apple-pie

Classic and All-American, so to speak. Apple Pie is a traditional mix of sweet and tart – the sweet taste of the crust goes well with the crisp, tart flavour of apples, complete with a spicy dash of cinnamon.

BANANA CREAM PIE

BananaCream2

You thought chocolate was the primary sweet… think again! Banana Cream Pie is creamy, sweet and offers a slice of heaven to those looking to serve and enjoy a more rich dessert.

 PEACH PIE

Peach Pie 018edited

Obviously, this is The Domestic Peach’s top favourite. Peach Pie is just delicious, with the great taste of peaches and cream baked into a pie, which goes well with a side of vanilla ice cream.

 PEANUT BUTTER PIE

PeanutButterPie1

Think of a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, just in pie form. Peanut Butter Pie is a decadent dessert and is a huge favourite of peanut lovers who also have a soft spot for chocolate.

KEY LIME PIE

Key-Lime-Pie

The pure taste of citrus fruit, mixed with sugar and cream, packaged in crumble crust. Key Lime Pie is sometimes the last dessert choice from the pie family, but don’t knock it ’til you try it. It is delicious!
