Wine & Dine with Cheese

Ever since my time in university, I have gained a huge appreciation for the wine and cheese experience. I think this only came to be in my twenties because before then, I could not grasp the idea that wine and cheese pair very nicely together… or that it could truly give you an elegant experience with two simple things.

Before I show you in a week how to create your own wine and cheese experience in the comforts of your own home, I wanted to share with you the love I have for a specific place in Toronto that hosts a wonderful experience such as this – Carens Wine and Cheese Bar.

Carens

Deemed a “hidden gem” in Toronto’s trendy Yorkville area, I would certainly agree that it is a place that people have known and loved for years or have finally discovered and are left with a very pleasant surprise. This warm and inviting French-themed restaurant houses a huge selection of wine and cheese from around the world, being able to cater to each individual’s taste buds.

In addition to this, Carens Wine and Cheese Bar has a wonderful menu.

I have had the pleasure of having dinner there recently with a colleague and enjoyed the Spicy Baked Mac & Cheese – pure comfort food with an incredible kick!

???????????????????????????????

This lovely spot also has a vast brunch and lunch menu, which is something I will be looking to try for my next visit there.

Basically, if you live in Toronto or you are visiting here, check it out! You, your taste buds and your stomach will not be sorry!

Spark Sessions – Canada’s First Fashion & Beauty Blogger Conference

Over four months ago, I joined a group of 7 bloggers in Canada to create, plan and manage Canada’s first ever fashion and beauty blogger conference. The conference is called Spark Sessions and it has definitely ignited the spark in Toronto and in Canada, bringing together over 170 bloggers who are passionate about content creation, brand partnerships and most importantly, finding your own voice.

As a relatively new blogger (The Domestic Peach turns 6 months old this month), I have truly enjoyed the experience working with some of the top bloggers in my country on the committee, forging new friendships and learning more about this world of online dialogue.

With an incredible opening speech from Canada’s fashion icon Jeanne Beker, two days packed with in-depth information sessions and plenty of networking, the first year of Spark Sessions has been wonderful and is already being recognized on a top event for Canuck bloggers.

Here is a visual sneak peek of the conference, showcasing our venue, The Centre for Social Innovation, and two of our amazing sponsors – Almay and Smart Set.

Thank you to everyone who attended Spark Sessions this year and sending my love to my fellow committee members: Marissa Anwar (Chic Darling & Thiry Six Months), Anjali Handa (Rock that Look), Anum Khan (Summerxskin), Deanne Castro (My Fash Avenue), Elaine Atkins (Toronto Beauty Reviews), Jenny Jovanovic (Crazy Style Love), and Nicole Wilson (Dainty Girl).

Perfect Picture Pick – Tea Time

A few weeks ago, I took my mom and sister out for high tea at this adorable tea lounge in Toronto called T-Buds. As a huge tea drinker, this place is my heaven, complete with scrumptious scones, miniature sandwiches and treats. If you ever want an experience that is indulging and has a hint of royalty, high tea is the best.
